I proofread essays, dissertations, theses and research papers for international students and academics. I’m also happy to proofread CVs, postgraduate funding applications, questionnaires, presentations and any other type of academic document.
The following features are checked as part of the standard student proofreading service (rates start from £8 per 1,000 words):

- Subject/verb agreement

- Use of the appropriate vocabulary
- Formatting problems
- Numbering of headings and chapters
I also offer a number of extra services, including reference-checking and the creation of tables of contents/figures/tables.

How I work on your academic document
I read each document very carefully and identify spelling, grammar and punctuation errors that can go unnoticed in the spelling and grammar checkers of word processing software. My experience of reading and writing academic English complements my academic editing skills, and helps me to deliver a high quality and efficient service.
I usually use Microsoft Office track changes to proofread documents. This highlights the changes I make to written text and you can then review the changes and choose whether to accept or reject them. I also annotate the text with queries and/or suggestions in comment boxes for you to review.
